I’m very excited to say that I will be participating in the 2011 Coca Cola Historic Columbus annual fund raiser.  This year marks the 3rd anniversary for this event.  It specifically raises funds for the Columbus, Georgia educational program.  One of the ways they raise money is by reaching out to local creative’s whether they are sculptors, painters or photographers and asking if they will donate a piece of their work to the events silent auction.  A few months back Nickie Tillery, the silent auction chairman, contacted me about donating a photo with the theme being Coca Cola. I was very honored to be the Fort Benning Photographer for Dylan Clarke’s’ Airborne Graduation.  His grandparents, Georgia and Shirley, drove all the way down from New York City to see him graduate.  Since they were the only ones to make it they were representing the entire family.  I didn’t actually get to speak with Dylan  but his grandparents were great company.  As a matter of fact George reminded me quite a lot of my Grandfather who passed a way when I was a young teenager.  So it is definitely easy to say I had an instant connection with them both.
